"I had been having back issues for more than 5 years and knew surgery was in my future, but being back surgery I was hesitant. I needed a disk replacement between my L4/L5 and a 1 level fusion. Then I met Dr. Ju, and his confidence and the way he explained my choices and that this surgery sooner rather than later in life would be more beneficial. He put me and my husband at ease. I am 5 months out, and am so glad I did the surgery, my quality of life has definitely improved. "I can highly recommend Dr. Derek Ju. I had a spinal fusion on my neck, and he was my surgeon. Everything went smoothly. He took the time to answer all my questions before the surgery. He came to follow-up with me after the surgery when I was in the hospital and again answered all my questions. He takes his time with you. He made sure I was ready to go home from the hospital and I would be ok to take care of myself. After surgery when I was home I had a few questions and he called me back in a timely manner. "Went into Emergency room couldn't feel my feet and legs thought I was paralyzed or blood clot somewhere,turns out I had several herniated disc's in my lower back. “I went to see Dr Ju based on his excellent credentials and high ratings. I had a severe compression of my thoracic spine and required a fusion from T1to T5. I already had severe symptoms and was unable to ambulate and had tingling sensations across my midsection and legs. I met with dr Ju and I knew after speaking with him I wanted him to do the surgery. Of course he was not able to promise me a full recovery but was encouraging. I had the surgery at St Francis on 11/22/23. The hospital was excellent and the staff attentive. Dr Ju visited me in the hospital and his support team was excellent! I am presently one month post surgery and not only do I have all my feeling back in my legs but all the tingling is gone. I am also walking without a walker, without a cane and am presently able to walk a mile(slowly) outside!!! I cannot express my gratitude enough for this wonderful recovery.
